Biophilic Design

Biophilia is defined as ‘our innate tendency to connect with nature.’

Biophilic Design is the professional practice of elevating architectural spaces through the integration of natural elements: earth, wind, water, and fire. The presence of Biophilic Design elements create conscious and subconscious experiences that are remembered and talked about.

We seek nature for times of holiday, reflection, healing and much more - both individually and as groups. Using Biophilic Design techniques can mimic the satisfaction of these needs in the spaces we spend our daily lives in, creating happy and healthier people with a proven return on investment.

As an extension of my green infrastructure work since 2016, I am excited to invite focus on natural features beyond plants. These might include water features, fire bowls, suspended air-like installations, mushroom leather furniture and more. If you can envision it, we can collaboratively bring any Biophilic Design ideation to fruition.
